Rat The Cat Reading Accelerator is forty FULL-STORY, FUN adventures with lessons, each story building on the previous using progressive phonics.

Rat The Cat uses progressive phonics, not to teach a bunch of rules, but as a sensible method for introducing new letter combinations to new readers.

The stories start very simple—mostly "short a" words— and with each lesson the vocabulary and stories grow. Each story comes with lessons.

The stories are broken down into four Blocks of ten-stories each. Block 1 is roughly equivalent to First Grade.

The stories are available as books paperback books and as Kindle ebooks. The paperback books are full-page color, but we do have cheaper black & white paperback versions.

The stories are available as paperback books and as reflowable Kindle ebooks. The paperback books are full-page color, but we do have cheaper black & white paperback versions. The Kindle ebooks are full color, and with their reflowable text they allow for Read Aloud where available, and for changing the size and font of the text. Each book, in any form, is roughly 120 pages, 10 STORIES X 12 PAGES EACH, though in the reflowable Kindle ebooks the stories may take up many more pages.

What makes us different are the FULL, FUN STORIES. Our stories are just better. Your child will be entering a whole new world of characters who have adventure after adventure, and because of the fun, your child will return to the stories again and again.

When your child can read an entire Block, your child is an official Blockhead and you can download a FREE 8"x10" PDF certificate and print it to hang on the wall.
